What’s it about?
A young unproven predator finds himself on a deadly planet tracking an apparently unkillable opponent.

Anthony Sherratt says: The opening scenes of Predator Badlands are like the love child of Star Wars and Mad Max, so it’s not surprising to see other genres and tropes bleed into this latest Predator installment. What is unexpected is the addition of a manic pixie dream girl. Even more unexpected is the fact it somehow works.
Writer-Director Dan Trachtenberg has an obvious love for the franchise and characters and its this depth that allows for the Yautja (the name of the predator species) lore to be expanded without it being diluted.
Its story is predictable but the action sequences are impressive and inventive and to be honest, it’s just a lot of fun. Possibly a little too much as it borders on light-hearted in moments but it can’t be said it isn’t entertaining. You go along hoping to see monsters of all sizes killing each other and that’s what you get.
