What did we think

Wrath of Man limps through some genuinely terrible dialogue in its first half hour, before a really satisfying gear-shift into a nasty neo-noir thriller. Jason Statham adds a darker edge to his usual strong-silent-type schtick, and Scott Eastwood puts in an excellently scummy turn as a villain, but there are no real secondary characters, merely a large (albeit well fleshed-out) supporting cast. It's well-plotted and well-paced, and while it nails the darker tone that it's going for, the movie lacks the wit and charm that audiences might be expecting from Guy Ritchie's original stories. I'd still definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the market for a crime thriller, but for a Guy Ritchie movie starring Jason Statham it may not be what you're expecting from a Guy Ritchie movie starring Jason Statham.
