Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short. Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.

In DEATH ON THE NILE, Kenneth Branagh reminds us how wonderful slow-burning movies can be. He wields the impressive cast beautifully leaving us with a compelling story that will leave you unsure of the guilty until the very end. In fact, it's paced so wonderfully that those unfamiliar with the source novel will spend the first third of the movie trying to work out who gets murdered let alone who did it. Even those who have read the novel will be surprised at the darker tones on display here. A great whodunit though it must be said Poirot's mustache almost deserves separate billing.
