Bombshell has the fast-paced atmosphere of a newsroom; with little time wasted on introductions, you need to be somewhat familiar with the main players ahead of time.

Nicole Kidman, Charlize Theron and John Lithgow do an admirable job of portraying Gretchen Carlson, Megyn Kelly and Roger Ailes respectively. But it was Margot Robbie, playing the fictional Kayla Pospisil, who grounded the story in the present-day and showed a version of what so many women had to endure at the beginnings of their careers.

This film is a double-edged sword: there’s empowerment, yes, but also a bittersweet acknowledgement that you can slay one monster and find another waiting in the wings.
