WHAT'S IT ABOUT
Adam Goodes was one of the most successful professional Australian rules players of all time. His community work and outspokenness against racist behaviour spurred a national discussion that resulted in his early retirement from the game.
When I was a kid, my knowledge of aboriginal culture came from a handful of baffling kid’s books and jokes made by my dad’s friend’s. The more I learn now about the deep history of my country, the more heartbroken I am that it’s taken so long for light to get called to this behaviour. It’s hard to be called out as a culture that bullies. But when it’s packaged together so artfully the message is clear and inspiring. This film should be in the national curriculum.
