Has it really been 25 years since Bad Boys? Has it really been 17 years since Bad Boys 2? The target audience for this movie was likely not born when the earlier films came out, and while it's rare for a franchise to have such a long break between installations, Bad Boys for Life plays to its strengths and embraces the passage of time. The characters are a little older, if not a little wiser, and while it would be a stretch to say that it's a more mature film than the earlier movies, it's definitely a slick and streamlined adventure and a hugely entertaining time. I was genuinely surprised by how much I found myself enjoying the infuriatingly titled Bad Boys for Life (how does the studio not save this title for a potential fourth installment?). While it's not breaking the mold, the two leads have natural and believable chemistry, the action and comedy are as perfectly balanced as you could ask for, and the story is surprisingly strong. I'd definitely recommend checking it out. 3.5/5

A slow first half laden with cliches was getting on my nerves as much as the 4DX 'experience' until, thankfully, it gave way to some mindless fun which saved it.This third instalment feels like just another Murtaugh and a playboy Riggs with their "I'm too old for this" and "I'm going to do what I want without thought" but it's at least entertaining. 3.3/5
